About Pneumatic and Hydraulic Clamps
Clamps in this lineup are activated by pneumatic or hydraulic cylinders, and are available in holding capacities from 50-2000lbs. (At the end of the toggle bar). These clamps feature very durable construction and smooth operation, making them excellent for use in high repetition production and automation. A double-acting design means these clamps remain locked closed even with the loss of air or oil pressure. Cylinders and clamp assemblies are available individually. Knu-vise pneumatic and hydraulic clamps are available in various configurations including:
Front Mount: For use with rotary indexing tables and injection molding operations
Straight Line: The Straight-ahead pushing or pulling action is excellent for remote or automated control applications
Vertical air operated: The narrow side profile of this clamp makes it perfect for use on Thermo-forming machines.
Features:
A double-acting design means Knu-vise Pneumatic and Hydraulic clamps will not release work should the air or oil pressure fail. (NOTE: Model numbers followed by SA designation employ a single action with a spring return.)
The Air Operated Vertical (AOV) clamp lineup for thermo-forming machines offer narrow side profile, which saves floor and machine space and protects cylinders and air lines from damage.
Pneumatic and Hydraulic cylinders are available without clamp assembly for your replacement needs. Welded, high-quality cylinders are equipped with: high quality "o" rings; large phosphor-bronze piston-rod bearings; chrome plated piston rods.
Clamp proper is available individually, without cylinder.
Seats capable of withstanding temperatures of 450 degrees Fahrenheit are optional.
Heavy-duty models available with solid toggle bars.
Pneumatic operation
When operated pneumatically, restrictor fittings control the opening and closing speed of the clamp, and provide a cushioning effect that eliminates hammerlike action.
Hydraulic operation
When operated hydraulically, the hole in each restrictor fitting must be enlarged to the same diameter as the hole in the cylinder end cap, or the fittings must be replaced by adapters with such holes to obtain the same opening and closing speed as when operated by air.
